About the Blog

Welcome!

This space is a way for me to compile and share what I’m learning in my daily work and research. Not a mental health professional? This blog is the place for you to be! My goal with this blog is to help educate everyone to know what trauma is, it’s long term effects, and to know how to support those in your life that are trauma survivors in language everyone can understand. While the whole of the blog is about trauma in general, you will find that a lot of the writing revolves around sex-specific trauma because that is my specialty. If you know that you are easily triggered by certain topics, please read through with care. I will be sure to include trigger warnings on posts I feel may be more sensitive, but I will not be able to know everything that will trigger each person who reads the blog.

If you are a trauma survivor, I urge you to seek professional help. While I hope this blog can be of use to everyone, I do not intend any information given here to replace individual psychotherapy for those in need. Please look at my Resources tab for services available in the Salt Lake area.
